Corporate Director of People Services

Employer
Harrow London Borough Council
Location
Harrow, London (Greater)
Salary
£140,151 - £153,036
Closing date
24 Apr 2022

We touch the lives of adults, children and families when they are most in need, and are proud to support their journey through life in Harrow. We have seen how working with partners, early support and prevention are improving outcomes for our people. Let’s not forget the role public health has played during the pandemic. We can leverage this further, as we drive our post covid recovery and the impending changes in inspection regimes, and national policy. There’s no doubting this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior leader to broaden their portfolio; spurred on by a new group of Members following local elections, loyal staff and partners, it’s a chance to reshape services covered in this directorate:

• Children services and Education

• Adult Social Care services

• Public health

We need an engaging and collaborative leader, offering broad experiences from different places on how to deliver outstanding services to our community. As the driving force providing assurance on safeguarding, health and care integration, and delivering a balanced budget, you will inspire and encourage creative thinking from all stakeholders about the future of services, including embracing new technologies, and new ways of working. We are proud of what we achieved so far, including strong inspection outcomes, but know more can be done with bright minds, enthusiasm and stamina.

If you are a qualified social worker with a background in either Adult or Children Services, with passion about what is possible by delivering joined-up services that support residents during this time of transition, we would love to hear from you. For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Nancy Scott or Alex Hayes at GatenbySanderson on 0113 205 6109 and Click Apply Now.
