Deliver innovative, transformative SEND support for young people. Enhance the universal level of support for schools including training delivery.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we have real ambitions for children and young people with SEND. We want them to play a full part in an education system designed to welcome them and fully cater to their needs, whatever they may be. We also want them to feel joy and success across their early years, at school and in further education, so they can go on to lead happy, fulfilled lives. We aim to achieve this through innovative, specialist, evidence-based support as well as high-quality training and the celebration of neurodiversity. If you also aspire to excellence in SEND, you will be in good company with us.

The Role:

As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll partner with Autism Advisory Teachers to support the needs of children and young people with autism or who are part of the Social Communication Pathway. Joining our friendly, welcoming team, you’ll help secure positive outcomes in mainstream settings – nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools and colleges, delivering the highest quality of inclusive practice across the board.

Taking on your own caseload of referred pupils, you’ll assess sensory needs and devise strategies to support children, families and care givers. You’ll also identify training needs for school staff and parents and develop high-quality resources for them to use. On top of this, you’ll liaise with other occupational therapy services, contribute to annual reviews and advise team members as required.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information

About You:

You’ll have significant paediatric occupational therapy experience, including sensory processing, devising plans, reviewing processes, working with parents or carers and effectively managing your own caseload.

You should have excellent communication and collaboration skills, combined with good organisational skills, managing your own diary and the ability to establish strong working relationships with a wide range of people. In terms of wider attributes, we value openness, respect, ambition and positivity – a sense of humour also goes a long way.

You should have a qualification in occupational therapy and eligibility for registration with the Health Professionals Council.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent learning and development opportunities.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role
