The Role

Warrington & Co is Warrington's inward investment and regeneration agency. Guided by a private sector-led board, we help steer and monitor the implementation of Warrington Means Business 2020 via direct delivery and partnership working. We undertake direct developments as well as working in partnership with public and private sector partners to bring forward developments or to help with Warrington specific knowledge, free advice and assistance for potential investors and existing businesses can help make your businesses relocation to Warrington a successful one. Warrington & Co is also responsible for the Incrementum Housing Companies established by Warrington Borough Council in 2019 with the ambition of delivering over 500 new homes for rent in the Borough over the next six years.

Warrington & Co undertake the major regeneration and development projects on behalf of Warrington Borough Council. Most recently completed is the £140m Time Square scheme which is rapidly transforming the town centre into a vibrant family friendly leisure destination and we are currently delivering a new £50m project transform the bus fleet and depot to all electric. In addition we will be delivering a new development on the former council offices New Town House.

We now need an experienced Project Manager who will take day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of projects within the development programme. Working in partnership with our legal and property teams as well as external consultants and contractors, the successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for the management of the delivery of the new schemes and will oversee all aspects of the developments from the initial site evaluations through construction stages up to the handover of the completed developments.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant experience in project and programme management in the property and regeneration sectors. Operating at senior management level, the candidate will be expected to manage a wide range of senior stakeholders whilst maintaining an eye for detail and problem solving across a growing number of complex schemes. Communication skills are essential and a working knowledge of local government is preferred.

You should be a member of an appropriate professional body although experience is acceptable in lieu of this and ideally hold a degree/diploma in a property-related subject. 

You will be based at the Council's new offices at 1 Time Square, Warrington, although agile working is encouraged.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
