Job Details

Cambridgeshire County Council has successfully managed their Permit Scheme for Road Works and Street Works since October 2016. The aim of the scheme is to improve our capability to effectively manage and maintain the local highway network for the safe and efficient use of road space, whilst allowing Promoters access to maintain their services and assets.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person to work as a Street Works FPN Officer in the Cambridgeshire Street Works and Permitting team. This is an exciting opportunity to enable effective delivery of Cambridgeshire’s Streetworks and Permitting service by managing the income generation and financial processes for Street Works and Permit fees, Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and New Roads and Street Works Act charges. Provide operational financial management advice within the Street Works and Permitting service working alongside the Fees & FPN Officer. Support the internal management of Street Manager.

You will liaise with Utility Companies and other Stakeholders regarding charges and fines. Liaise with works promoters and utility companies regarding permit discounts. Reconcile accounts for income and payments, manage debt recovery including overdue payments. Validate and issue Fixed Penalty Notices in line with the Traffic Management Act 2004.

The team is based in Huntingdon.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact: Nicki Mason, Street Works and Permitting Team Leader on 07909 890174
