A new exciting opportunity for a Children Service’s Housing Officer, situated in the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team is available.

MASH is a multi-agency team that sit at the front door to Children’s Early Help and Social Care.  As a part of the Team the post holder will provide their knowledge and expertise on housing issues that are having an impact on children, young people and their families.  This post holder will liaise with Housing officers to ensure the most up to date information about a family’s housing situation, where they are living in the boroughs local authority stock is known and that relevant housing advice and support is given to practitioners in the MASH.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving the lives of vulnerable families and their children.  The post holder will be the lead officer for Housing in the MASH team, responding to daily MASH checks, liaising with appropriate housing officers, and attending daily MASH meetings (as required) to provide advice on housing matters and contribute to decision making around thresholds.

The successful applicant will work with a range of different colleagues in the MASH and support decision making to ensure families receive the right service.

The role will link with the Housing and Regeneration Departments Children’s Safeguarding Policy lead to ensure practices and procedures, such as the Joint Working Protocol are embedded across both services to ensure the best possible outcome for families.

The successful candidate will have a background in social housing and experience working with vulnerable families, and passionate about taking on a new challenge.
