The Role
This is a busy and dynamic team offering a statutory service to Looked After Children and care leavers some of whom have very complex needs. We work with young people from the age of 16 potentially up to 25 with the aim of effecting a smooth transition to adulthood for our care leavers.
We support Young People to make constructive plans for their future and we are committed to gaining positive outcomes in all aspects of their life including health, accommodation, education employment and training.
About You
You should have excellent communication skills and a persistent approach when engaging with resistance.
You should be able to show assessment, planning and intervention skills to meet needs and address risk.
You should be passionate about helping Young People be aspirational and strive towards attainment.
You should also feel comfortable in tackling complex and challenging needs, risks and behaviours.
You will need to understand the disadvantage faced by Care Leavers, many of whom have had traumatic life experiences, and be able to work creatively and collaboratively to redress this balance.
About Us
This can be demanding but rewarding work. We have a strong teamwork ethos with frequent team meetings. You can expect regular formal supervision, easy access to informal support and excellent in-house training.
As set out in our Bolton 2030 vision, our aim is to support people to Start Well, Live Well and Age Well and we are passionate about keeping children and young people at the heart of the work we do. We want to make sure all our children and young people have the best possible start in life, so they have every chance to succeed and be happy.
Bolton is a fantastic place to work, and our employees thrive working here. We are incredibly proud of our Bolton Family, of which you will become an integral part.
