We are looking for an experienced quantity surveyor to join the County Council’s project team working directly on the Carlisle Southern Link Road (CSLR) project. This role provides a truly exciting opportunity to make an impact for the people of Cumbria.

The CSLR is a £144m infrastructure project which aims to enable the successful delivery of the proposed St Cuthbert’s Garden Village development, improve east-west connectivity, and enhance the highway network around Carlisle. The project involves the construction of an 8km single carriageway road with several significant structures including a new bridge over the River Caldew and Cumbrian Coast Line railway and a bridge over the West Coast Main Line.

The project team are working closely with a design and build contractor; the successful candidate will be an excellent team player capable of building positive working relationships with a focus on delivering value for money for the council.

The role will involve working closely with the Council’s wider Capital Programme team responsible for the delivery of a programme worth approximately £120m per annum supporting a diverse range of front-line services and back office functions including children’s services, adult services, highways, corporate buildings and fire service.
