A rare and interesting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Finance Officer - Pensions to provide flexible and professional technical services to support the management of Cumbria Local Government Pension Scheme (the Fund).
About the role
The post holder will support the Fund to ensure that it meets its regulatory obligations, respond appropriately to new legislation / regulations / guidance and comply with scheme policies. To perform the role of technical expert on matters pertaining to Pensions Investments, Tax, Governance and Regulation in regard to the LGPS.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills and the drive and enthusiasm to interpret regulations in a way that will enable the Fund to comply with it’s statutory and fiduciary duties, summarise key documents and to identify how best to develop policies and report on the investment and governance outcomes for the Fund.
Cumbria County Council is the Administering Authority of Cumbria LGPS and whilst the Council is currently going through Local Government Reorganisation (LGR); it is anticipated that the Fund will continue to function after LGR has been completed with the expectation that one of the two new Unitary authorities will become the Administering Authority for the Fund.
