Have you ever considered working in Commissioning?

An exciting opportunity has arisen in a supportive, committed, and friendly team for a highly motivated individual to work in Strategic Commissioning as a Quality and Contracts Officer.

Recruitment to this post is required to support the Strategic Commissioning Team to provide up to date information on any contract or quality issues that may impact on the council’s statutory responsibility to manage the social care market. This will be supported through robust monitoring and evaluating of outcomes along with quality assurance through an appropriate contract management process.

About the role

Experience of contract monitoring, quality assurance and performance management would be beneficial to make sure services are commissioning and contract managed in an effective & efficient manner, delivering value for money, whilst ensuring that the needs of Cumbrian citizens continue to be met.

If successful, you will be responsible for carrying out contract monitoring activity and reviews on an independent basis and to produce reports based on findings.  You will participate/lead multi-agency Radar groups to share information on quality concerns and ongoing improvements and to provide information to support decision making around the support or actions to be taken with providers

This is a high-profile role and will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside a range of people, both within the Council and from other agencies (such as health and social care providers) throughout Cumbria. This will offer a real opportunity to see if a career in Commissioning is for you.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an innovative and creative individual with skills, knowledge, and experience in delivering / managing projects, who wants to make a difference. You will need to be an effective communicator, be able to understand and interpret data and deliver outcomes. You do not necessarily need a background in social care, just a desire and ability to effect change and deliver.

If you have any questions around these opportunities, please contact Alan Young on alan.young@cumbria.gov.uk for more information.
