Qualifications Required:

Masters/Doctorate in Educational Psychology. Applicants must hold a full, current and valid driving licence and a vehicle with a current valid MOT certificate with adequate insurance.

The Role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic colleague to join Bolton Educational Psychology Service. We are a small and supportive team in a local authority where SEND is given a high priority and where we have strong working relationships with our schools.

This post involves providing consultation and advice for parents/carers, children’s services colleagues, health professionals and relevant others, to assist in meeting the needs of Bolton children and young people aged 0-25 years.

The post involves responding to requests for assessment, consultation, training and group-work from schools, settings and the Local Authority. The postholder would also be required to undertake statutory assessments of children and write psychological advice as required. The postholder would also have the opportunity to be involved in the Critical Incident Support Service.

About You:

The ideal candidate for the main grade EP post will be an enthusiastic educational psychologist with an excellent understanding of children and young people’s cognitive, social and emotional development.

An effective communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with children, young people, families and all stakeholders with full commitment to ensure that the special educational needs of children and young people are met and their outcomes improved.

A team player with a desire to join and contribute to our supportive team.

Applicants will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the HCPC, with a degree in psychology and a recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology. Applications for this post are welcome from those completing training in 2023 (i.e. those who have are just completing Year 2 of their training), and from those wishing to work full time, part time or term time only.
