An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Team for a permanent Social Worker.  We are looking for a highly motivated social worker, working full time Monday to Friday in a small but friendly team of social workers and social care officers supporting vulnerable adults in the Smethwick area of Sandwell.

The team base is ordinarily at Smethwick Council House; however, it is planned that future working will be a hybrid of working from the Office and from home.  

You will receive a manageable caseload and regular supervision from Social Care Lead Officers within a friendly supportive team. There is an opportunity to access a variety of post qualifying training and ongoing development opportunities.

Skills & Experience

The post will involve working with adults, some of whom are deemed to be vulnerable.  We adopt a strength-based approach in our practice and outcome focused support planning.  Applicants are expected to undertake statutory duties in line with the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding and undertake duties expected of social workers in line with their Professional Capabilities Framework.

You will require a Degree in Social Work, Dip SW, CQSW or equivalent.

You will also be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check.

Hours

37 and 18.5 hours per week
