Workbase: Cumbria House, Carlisle, or West Cumbria House, Workington, and some homeworking 

Contract: One-year, maternity leave cover. This could be a secondment for existing CCC staff.

We have an exciting progression opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join the Adoption Team as a Family Finder, working to develop high-quality matches and placements for children with a plan of adoption. Now is a great time to join us and further your Social Work career with Cumbria County Council.

The enhanced social worker/adoption family finder post is based within the children and families service/adoption service and will work with service users and providers, and internal/external partners to deliver complex services to support children, families and carers.

This is a country wide post although most of the cased allocated will come from West Cumbria and Carlisle and Eden districts.

The family finding team are part of the Adopt Coast to Coast Regional Adoption Agency partnership. There will be occasional weekend working and this is planned well in advance. You will be joining a friendly and hard-working team, liaising with other agencies, and linking in with social workers from other services.

We are looking for a great communicator, who can build relationships, and has strong problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be organised, have good assessment, analytical and written skills, and will be able to effectively work to ensure high-quality placements are secured.
