We are looking for the perfect candidate to join our team!
This is a role where your contribution and support will make a direct and positive impact to many service areas within the Council. Our small team provide business support to a large directorate and we are looking for someone organised, motivated and friendly to join us.
Our team of administrators work in the Economy & Infrastructure Directorate to provide top level business support to our services and teams. We provide support for a variety of service areas such as Legal Services, Customer Front of House, Fire Service, Highways, Trading Standards, and Libraries etc.
The Role
The role of a Business Support Administrator is varied and will involve the right person having a flexible approach to the many different requirements, which can differ depending on the location and the nature of the work. You will be responsible for a range of administration work, including responding to requests on our online portal, delivering exceptional customer service whilst front of house, arranging meetings and liaising with customers and other stakeholders. Other duties include maintaining and inputting information into our databases, providing support at meetings and ensuring the safe and secure operation of the Council buildings you will be working in.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone proactive and hard-working, with great initiative and the ability to plan and prioritise their workload. Although you will be a part of our team, elements of this role with involve lone-working, and the right person has to be a great team player, but also driven and confident working independently. NQF or NVQ level 2 or 3, or equivalent experience or knowledge in the relevant work area, and a high level of ICT understanding are desirable, but also a willingness to undertake training.
We are able to accommodate both in person and virtual interviews. If virtual, your interview will preferably be undertaken using the Microsoft Teams software, which is currently free for new users, however if there are any issues with accessing this technology, we are happy to discuss alternative arrangements prior to the interviews.
Options will be discussed with candidates once they have been invited to the interview stage of the process, and if you have any concerns or adjustments are needed, we are happy to discuss.
