Full time

We have two vacancies for one-year fixed term posts or secondments to our team and are looking for talented, enthusiastic and respected education partners to join our Education Effectiveness Team. Our role is to work with schools and academies to ensure our ambition to make Leicestershire the best place for all children, young people and their families is a reality. This could be an opportunity for a serving school leader wanting wider experience as a secondment or be taken as a fixed term post. We would consider a part-time or job-share arrangement.

This opportunity is now available as we are building capacity to work more with specialist provisions on ensuring that our learners receive the highest quality education they can. In due course, there is a possibility that these roles could become permanent. This may suit candidates with experience in SEN leadership or those with wider educational experience which would release capacity for other team members to focus on this work.

You will have Qualified Teacher Status and experience of whole school leadership, which will enable you to build credibility with our partners. You will have strong knowledge and understanding of a wide range of issues around the educational agenda and the ability to learn quickly. Crucially you will have the interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to develop good quality relationships as you build a fruitful relationship with schools: you will be the point of contact for a group of schools and academies, establishing a strong channel of communication and helping school leaders to be confident in facing the ongoing challenges of recovery.

In addition, you will take responsibility for one or more of the team’s specialist areas of work and wider school system improvement, reporting back to the Leicestershire Education Excellence Partnership (LEEP). The team undertakes statutory tasks around education quality and inclusion and is committed to using its understanding of the local picture to creatively improve outcomes so that every child (irrespective of their level of ability and need) has access to good quality education enabling them to achieve their maximum potential. This is an opportunity to make a difference.

Our team continues to evolve (as does the educational landscape): initiative is very welcome. The posts offer fresh challenges, wide professional development and job satisfaction for the right candidates.

If you would like further information or to discuss the post, please contact Rebecca Wakeleyrebecca.wakeley@leics.gov.uk  0116 305 3365

We particularly welcome applicants from black, minority, ethnic (BME) communities, disabled people and lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities, as they are currently under represented within our workforce. We are on a journey to be an inclusive department where a culture to celebrate equality, diversity and inclusion is embedded and discrimination challenged at every level together as a department.  We warmly welcome those from all cultures, ethnicities and beliefs - this diversity is vital to our journey and is fundamental to our values and enriches the services we offer our children and families.
