We are looking to recruit two motivated and experienced audit and assurance professionals to join our team as Principal Auditors.

The role involves taking lead responsibility for the delivery of audits across a portfolio of clients and specialist areas.

You will work with a high degree of independence, developing effective relationships with audit clients including senior managers of the Council, and make a valuable contribution to the way the Council and other clients manage their business.

You will also be a valued team member, supporting and learning from other members of the team, contributing to their development, and leading by example.

About You

Candidates will be either MIIA/CCAB qualified or part qualified with relevant governance, risk or control related experience.

You will combine the ability to plan, deliver and manage audit work with excellent communication skills. Taking responsibility for your own development, you will build on your audit knowledge and experience to deliver a service that adds value for clients.

About Us

Bolton is the biggest town in the UK, and one of the friendliest. It is perfectly placed to make the most of what the North West region has to offer.

We are a welcoming organisation that is passionate about improving the outcomes and experience of Bolton people. We want Bolton to be a vibrant place built on strong cohesive communities, successful businesses and healthy, engaged residents.

The Internal Audit service is in a joint management arrangement with Manchester City Council under a shared Head of Audit and Risk Management, giving opportunities for collaboration and development. You will be supported with your personal development, including completion of MIIA/CCAB qualifications where relevant.

We offer flexible working hours and a balance of home and office-based working to match individual preferences with the needs of the service. Our office base is in Bolton town centre, with nearby parking and access to rail and bus networks.

As an employer we want to thank our employees for their hard work and commitment by giving them the opportunity to access a range of exclusive rewards and benefits, including discounts, exclusive gym membership prices and salary sacrifice schemes. In addition, we offer a generous annual leave allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, as well as access to employee support services and assistance programmes.
