About Us:

Share your passion for the natural environment to enhance wellbeing in the inner city.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient.

We believe that living in a city should not be a barrier to an understanding and appreciation of the natural environment. The Holland Park Ecology Centre, home to Kensington and Chelsea’s Ecology Service, is an invaluable environmental education and wellbeing resource for schools and residents. Based in the scenic Holland Park, which features habitats including a wildlife pond with a dipping platform, woodland and grasslands we are able to improve access to nature for all.

The Role:

You will make an important contribution to improving overall health and wellbeing in the borough by developing and delivering an engaging nature connection programme to schools, young people, families and adults. As well as running a range of environmental education sessions, public events and holiday activities that offer hands-on contact with the natural world, you will also deliver community outreach projects. Building links with other services and partners will be key, and you will seek funding to further develop our health and wellbeing programmes and expand your own role.

About You:

Creative, confident and practical, you’re a passionate advocate for the benefits of outdoor learning and wider access to nature. Bringing sound experience of environmental education, you will ideally be a trained Forest School leader (Level 3). You’ll have the energy, drive and organisational skills to make things happen but you’ll also be highly focused on community engagement and involving residents in programming and development. Experience of working with volunteers is important.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.
