This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to improve sport and physical activity opportunities for the North Northumberland area of Alnwick and Berwick.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working across several projects to help develop and sustain community sporting and physical activity opportunities. There will be a wide range of projects for you to develop including -

  • Capital development applications to support community sports clubs and organisations develop their facilities,
  • Helping nonsporting organisations to develop physical activity programme to their users
  • Rolling out sporting initiatives as they arise
  • Creating and developing opportunities and events for people to participate whether they are currently active or inactive

You need to be passionate about community and the diverse range of needs and barriers to participation. Great communication skills are essential.

The ability to run sessions is desirable but not essential. You should have experience or insight into writing funding applications, knowledge of the sporting landscape in the North Northumberland area and ideas on how more to get more people active.

  • Salary £22,571-£24,920 (Band 5)
  • 25 days annual leave plus public and bank holidays (rising to 30 after 5 years of service)(pro-rata for part-time employees)

The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS and some evening and weekend work may be required.

This 15 hour per week post can be applied alongside the 17 hour per week Active Through Football Manager post. Candidates are welcome to apply for either or both roles.
