An exciting opportunity for the right individual who has a passion and proven track record within the domain of hospital social work. This post requires an individual to have an excellent working knowledge of local health economies, a working knowledge of both bed base and home based step up and step down provision, someone who understands the demands, timescales and pressures included in supporting flow through a health system and also has experience of working within this setting alongside partner agencies. 

The post has line management for staff . You must therefore have line management experience and a focus on outcomes, performance including DTOCs (delayed transfers of care), staff wellbeing, recruitment and retention and a strengths based approach to intervention. The post has a central base however staffing can be spread around a number of health areas across the city and support in all these areas will be expected. The chosen individual must be able to support 7 day working pattern which will include 1 weekend day every 4 weeks.  

This role is demanding, pressurised, proactive and reactive to escalations therefore any successful candidate will need to show how they will manage these areas effectively and with resilience.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all our employees and volunteers to share this commitment.
