Telford & Wrekin Council is seeking to recruit an experienced officer to join the Resilience Unit which comprises of Emergency Planning, Business Continuity Planning and Events Safety Advisory Group Secretariat.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager Health Protection, you will be committed to seeking continuous improvement through the development and validation of plans in preparation for major incidents and emergencies resulting in service disruption within the council and community. You will also be a champion for running events in the borough safely.
Working with Service Managers and professional partners you will actively support the integration of civil protection arrangements in the Borough.
The successful candidate will have some proven experience in playing an active role in incidents where there has been disruptive challenge. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills and experience in incident response. An enthusiastic and flexible approach to work is essential.

Educated to degree level you will have a high level of IT literacy and be able to communicate effectively at all levels. An important part of the role will be participation in the council’s 24hr duty rota for which an allowance is paid.
