Workbase: Team is based at Parkhouse Building, Carlisle, but are currently mainly homeworking. We are very flexible and permanent homeworking or working with a mixture of home and office working can also be considered.

We have an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join us as Senior Advisor – Resourcing, Workforce and Engagement. The role will focus on the development of key recruitment, resourcing and retention strategies and initiatives with a strong emphasis on the wellbeing of staff and how we engage with them. The successful post holder will provide technical advice and guidance on resourcing matters that are relevant to public sector industries, such as care, education and fire. As a senior member of the team, you will be involved in creating efficient resourcing solutions that relate to processes, candidate attraction and resourcing compliance and support key engagement initiatives. You will be a key team player and offer support and guidance to the wider team.

This is an exciting time to join us as our resourcing service grows and supports innovative solutions that will meet our organisation’s resourcing needs, working to ensure the majority of vacancies are filled first time with the right calibre of candidate from a diverse pool of applicants.

The role will champion wellbeing support and promote equality and inclusion across our workforce. Also you will identify key workforce trends to enhance engagement across the Council.  You will also take a leading role in supporting the Council’s staff network groups.

This post sits within the Strategic Team in People Management, and the successful candidate will contribute to the planning, development, and delivery of innovative solutions to resourcing and engagement, supporting the council’s priorities and focusing on the delivery of our new People Plan for the coming year.

As Senior Advisor, you will offer guidance to senior managers and operational teams on strategic resourcing and workforce initiatives, and you will be a key contributor on workforce planning, resourcing options, and implementing strategic HR procedures. We are looking for a candidate with strong technical knowledge, who can support the quality assurance and benchmarking of the organisation’s approach to effective initiatives, ensuring they are implemented and positively impacting the workforce and services.
