Join the Green and Cyber Revolution

Cheltenham is home to the internationally recognised Golden Valley Development, integrating hi-tech business, residential and leisure facilities. At the heart of the borough lies Cyber Central, the UK’s home of cyber, digital and creative sectors. Less than 15 miles away is Stroud District, pioneers of the green revolution and the first carbon neutral council in Europe, leading the race to achieving net zero. These are just two of the many exciting projects that we are currently delivering across the region.

We have the very best of Gloucestershire to offer, from Regency Cheltenham through to thriving market towns in Stroud District, nestling in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Across the two organisations, we’re leading the way on developing cyber and green economies, as well as tackling the climate and ecological emergency.

We now seek a joint Corporate Director (Monitoring Officer) to help us to deliver our individual and collective ambitions, whilst making sure we continue to uphold good governance and the highest possible standards in relation to corporate decision making. As an enabler, you will support the change and modernisation agenda across both councils and provide strategic leadership across corporate policy, member decision-making and democratic services.

Whilst you don’t have to be a qualified solicitor, you should bring experience and an understanding of leading first-class democratic services. This role presents the opportunity for you to be a key member of the senior leadership teams across our two 21st Century councils. You will play a vital role in collaborating with elected members and officers, building trust and respect whilst delivering both councils’ visions, values and objectives.

This is a unique opportunity to work across two pioneering and ambitious organisations. If you want to play a key role in leading us to even greater success, then we want to hear from you.

We are working with Tile Hill on this important appointment. For a confidential discussion and to find out more, please contact Helen Anderson (07534 602845) or Anita Denton on (07725 554802).
