Job Details

We are looking for a full time Registered Manager to work alongside the current Manager at Cherry Tree Children’s Resource Centre in Scarborough.

We are a registered children's home, providing short breaks for children with disabilities. Some of the young people we work with have complex health needs, which may include moving, transferring, and emergency medication administration. We also support children with autism and some behaviours that can challenge. Staff receive regular training to meet these needs alongside a comprehensive induction package.

You will need to demonstrate experience of leading teams and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the service which includes attending key meetings, ensuring Ofsted requirements are met, rota preparation and management, health and safety, staff supervision and appraisal.

For this role, we require the successful candidate to have worked for at least 2 years (within the last 5 years) in a position relevant to the residential care of children and worked for at least 1 year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role.

Experience of working in a multi-agency environment is essential and IT competence is also necessary.

You will ideally be able to demonstrate evidence of experience within a regulated care setting and have experience of working with children or adults with disabilities.

We are looking for a candidate who is a strong communicator, who is organised, with an eye for detail, child focused in their approach, able to advocate for and empower young people and lead teams to work to the best of their ability and give children exciting life opportunities.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday in the main but there may be times when other hours are required. You will take part in an out of hours standby rota after completion of induction for the CRC's across North Yorkshire for which an allowance is paid.

For an informal discussion please contact James Cliffe (Group Manager No Wrong Door) on James.Cliffe@northyorks.gov.uk or 01609 797495.

Company

The County of North Yorkshire is the largest County in England and Wales. Within the county are 598 square miles of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and 530 square miles of the North York Moors National Park. The county is included in the Yorkshire and Humberside Region.

Whilst the economy of the County has traditionally been dependent on agriculture and tourism, there is a fast growing high technology base and this, together with other forms of light manufacturing industry, is of increasing importance. The County Council has an active policy of economic development and the predominantly rural character of the County is highly attractive to high technology businesses as well as the traditional industries of farming, food production and tourism. The County contains several centres of great historic interest, market towns that invite light industrial development, the modern coalfield area in the South, scenic, lightly populated upland areas and the extensive lowland area in the Vale of York.
