About the role
Morton on Swale Children’s Resource Centre provides support to children and young people with disabilities by offering short breaks and day care to them and support them to access local facilities, and have adventures. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic about involving all of our young people within the community and in centre based activities.
Many young people we support have autism with varying levels of challenging behaviours. Some young people have complex health needs requiring additional support with moving and transferring, and some medical procedures for which you would receive training.
The role requires staff to work shifts including early mornings, evenings, sleep ins and waking nights as appropriate to the post they apply to.
About you
We are looking for part time, relief and waking night staff to join our committed team at Morton on Swale Children’s Resource Centre.
We need passionate, committed, creative, enthusiastic and highly skilled child focussed professionals with a positive approach and an understanding of safeguarding practice in a registered childcare setting. You should be an effective communicator who can adapt the way you communicate to engage young people who may not use words to speak.
You should have a level 3 Diploma in Childcare (NVQ3 equivalent) or the willingness to complete an apprenticeship as part of your role to a level 4 standard.
You will need to demonstrate good recording skills, IT skills and an ability to work within professional boundaries.
In return for your commitment to us, you will work within a supportive and child focussed team, receive regular training, supervision, appraisal and have lots of fun.
If you would like to discuss any of these opportunities further please contact Lisa Forbes (Manager) on 01609 532129.
We look forward to exploring your interest and receiving your application.

Company
The County of North Yorkshire is the largest County in England and Wales. Within the county are 598 square miles of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and 530 square miles of the North York Moors National Park. The county is included in the Yorkshire and Humberside Region.
Whilst the economy of the County has traditionally been dependent on agriculture and tourism, there is a fast growing high technology base and this, together with other forms of light manufacturing industry, is of increasing importance. The County Council has an active policy of economic development and the predominantly rural character of the County is highly attractive to high technology businesses as well as the traditional industries of farming, food production and tourism. The County contains several centres of great historic interest, market towns that invite light industrial development, the modern coalfield area in the South, scenic, lightly populated upland areas and the extensive lowland area in the Vale of York.
