Job Details
City of York Council’s Bereavement Services are looking for a new apprentice.
Fixed Term for 28 months
This is a great opportunity to work alongside experienced staff where you will assist with grass and hedge cutting, weeding, planting out, tending to herbaceous borders, turfing and excavating cremated remains plots.
You will be working as part of the team who provide a dignified and efficient cremation service at York crematorium and a burial service at Dringhouses cemetery
You will be studying a level 2 apprenticeship in Horticulture delivered by Askham Bryan College.
As well as working towards the crematorium technicians training scheme certificate with the Institute of Cemetery Cremation Management.

Candidates should hold Level 1 Maths and English equivalent to GCSE Grade 2/E or above. Apprentices will be expected to work towards Level 2 Maths and English where this has not been achieved.
Predicted grades will be accepted at application stage, but confirmation/certificates will need to be provided before any job offer is made
