Closing date

Are you looking for a senior and varied Business Partner role which has a responsibility to help drive and support cultural change in a dynamic environment, adding real value to one of the top performing councils in the UK?

Not your typical HR/OD local government role, as this is a unique opportunity to tackle commercial challenges for Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO), together with supporting the delivery of diverse council services such as Adult Social Care and Public Health.
If you were to be successful you would be joining our high performing, dedicated and friendly People Services Team, awarded PPMA Public Sector Team of the Year award in 2021.

About the role
This is a significant strategic HR leadership role, reporting to the Head of People Services.
You will be the HR/OD Business Partner for ESPO, a commercially run specialist procurement organisation. As the HR lead, you'll be providing advice and guidance on fast paced, commercial HR decisions, supporting ESPO to invest in their people.
You'll also be the HR/OD Business Partner for two of our key council departments - Adults and Communities and Public Health, providing strategic HR and OD advice and guidance to support the delivery of departmental services.

Strong and confident on influencing key stakeholders, you'll take on a designated portfolio of services working on workforce strategies, driving higher performance and productivity and influencing culture.

You'll be the strategic lead on Workplace and Culture, one of the key workstreams within Leicestershire County Council's People Strategy. This includes working on projects focused on Ways of Working, and Diversity and Inclusion, building on our already strong foundations in these areas.

Articulate and ambitious, you'll bring a proven track record of providing strategic HR and OD advice and support within a large complex and changing organisation. You'll be a member of the CIPD with a relevant degree or professional qualification and you will definitely have strategic HR or OD management experience together with a broad HR background. Above all, you'll be motivated by the chance to drive cultural change.

We'd also expect you to share our commitment to our values - PositivityTrust and RespectFlexibility and Openness and Transparency.

We offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave allowance, Local Government Pension Scheme, support with your ongoing professional development, employee wellbeing service and an employee discount and benefit scheme.
