The Role

An exciting career development opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our finance team as a Career Grade Financial Management Information Officer. 

Reporting to the Group Accountant, you will have responsibility for providing budget monitoring, financial information, analysis, advice and guidance to budget holders and stakeholders across a range of services within the Place and Chief Executive Directorates to ensure best use of resources and value for money.

You will work as part of a team to undertake year end closure of accounts and assist in the production and maintenance of Directorate budgets.

About You

 As an ideal candidate for this role, you will:

•           Have achieved or be actively working towards AAT / CCAB/CIMA qualification with relevant work experience and be enthusiastic about taking the next step in your accounting career.

•           Have a good knowledge of local government finance.

•           Be able to self-manage, work as a strong team player, organise, co-ordinate and multitask to meet agreed work deadlines.

•           Have the ability to work effectively and establish positive relationships with colleagues in a way that establishes confidence, credibility and trust and be able to demonstrate ability to listen and tactfully understand other people/service problems and /or issues

•           Have proven ability to review, analyse and interpret financial and activity data.

•           Have excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially EXCEL.
