Transform digital services in libraries to reach diverse communities.

The Bi-Borough Libraries and Archives Service at Kensington and Chelsea is an exceptional place in which to develop your career. Working with our partners at Westminster City Council, we hold the shared ambition of helping every member of our community Read, Learn and Connect. This purpose underpins all that we do, as equality in society can be enhanced and driven by helping people develop a love of learning and improving their literacy, knowledge and skills. Furthermore, this service allows people to connect – and in the current climate, that has never been more important. Rising up to the challenges presented by the pandemic, we must therefore evolve in how we are engaging with people, and we must continue to raise awareness of our services so that we are capable of making a difference to the lives of those who need us most. It is within this dynamic and inspirational working environment that you could find a fascinating challenge.

The Role:

Joining our ambitious and inclusive Bi-Borough Libraries and Archives Service, you will help deliver our purpose to help people to Read, Learn and Connect, in a service that drives equality by supporting people to develop their love of reading and learning, improve literacy, gain skills and knowledge, improve their health and wellbeing and to connect with each other. In a rapidly changing world, libraries need to adapt how they engage with communities and need to demonstrate their impact in order to continue to make a difference.

In this role, you’ll lead library digital innovation projects by defining library requirements, incorporating community needs and working in partnership with IT for technical delivery. You’ll shape the libraries’ digital offer to the community and work with partners to improve digital inclusion for residents. You’ll also drive library staff and volunteers to continually develop their capability to support the community with our libraries digital offer.
