Location: Chelmsford

Closing Date: 5th July 2022

At Essex County Council, we look after a large, diverse, complex region of the country. But our approach to meeting the needs of our 1.4 million residents is simple. We recruit creative, collaborative, talented people, and free them up to make an impact to be proud of. Join us and you'll be trusted to take control, manage change and do career-defining work. Safe in the knowledge that we're right behind you with more opportunities, more development, and more support.

In this role you play a key part in transforming the way we interact with residents. To make this happen, you will develop and implement new policies, practices, procedures and activities whilst ensuring that all our employees have the skills and capabilities to be the best they can. Balancing strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, you'll ensure we meet some stretching performance targets and will place customer insights at the heart of everything we do. You'll also lead some far-reaching projects to introduce new technology and new ways of thinking - from scoping and building business cases to final delivery - so you can expect enormous impact on the way we work.

Your track record of improving operational efficiency should speak for itself, and you will have plenty to say about how we can take things to the next level. Needless to say, you will be passionate about continuous improvement and customer satisfaction, with a highly analytical mindset and highly developed leadership skills, and you will innately be able to identify issues and barriers to change and overcome them with imagination and flair. In return, we can offer you a career that can take you anywhere you want to go.
