The Public Health Department in Leicestershire County Council is enthusiastic and passionate about protecting and improving the health and wellbeing of the local population. We are on an exciting journey integrating our public health and children services.

We are looking to recruit an experienced and forward-thinking adolescent health expert to our team. The successful post holders will be an experienced children and young people’s worker with a passion for improving the health of adolescents. 

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring evidence-based health improvement prevention and early intervention programmes are in place for young people aged 11-19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs)., - to support young people to improve their health outcomes and overall wellbeing in settings across Leicestershire. The Team Leaders will work across a locality, one based in east and one in the west of the County and cover their respective areas (prevention or integration) for the whole County. 

The successful candidates will be line managing the Young People’s Health and Wellbeing Officers within their locality ensuring delivery of health improvement programmes. The role will work with Team and Partnership Managers and the CFWS Triage team and co-ordinate referrals for support across their locations. There is requirement to work in partnership with colleagues across Leicestershire County Council and with external partners within Health and Social Care system to ensure services are joined up for young people.

The post holder/s will be required to work flexibly throughout the County, have excellent communication and influencing skills to work with education and community settings and be able to work confidently and professionally with health and children’s services staff, managers and wider partners, to support raising standards through education and supportive challenge.

The post is Monday to Friday, depending on the needs of young people some evening and weekend work maybe required. Located at various schools and community venues, with attendance at the main office in County Hall, in line with flexible working arrangements
