It is an exciting time to join the Highways Service at Rochdale Council. We have a stimulating opportunity for a Senior Transport Planner to join the Network Improvement and Development team. As one of the ten Local Authorities in Greater Manchester, we are working on a substantial number of improvement projects utilising funding from Transport for Greater Manchester and Central Government including Bee Network and Active Travel Funds.
You will work on key projects to improve the Highway network across the Borough. You will work through all aspects of the projects; developing concept designs, securing funding, public consultations, ensuring successful delivery of the project including developing business cases and commissioning the delivery of the proposals.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with highly developed interpersonal, organisational and negotiation skills, whom in return will receive excellent local government benefits, a supportive senior leadership team, and have the opportunity to really shape our highway network.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a Highway Transport Planning environment.
If you are solutions and results focused, a team player and would like to make your mark in a transforming organisation, then this role could be for you.
If you are interested in what we are offering, and have the skills we are looking for we want to hear from you. If you would like to discuss the post further please contact Alex Whittaker (Team Leader Highway Network Improvement & Development) on 01706 924532
