Learn to provide vital support that protects the public purse

At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we work collaboratively to help local residents achieve a great quality of life. From housing to healthcare, we collectively strive to adopt the most relevant and cutting-edge approaches to dealing with every person and every situation.

At the Corporate Anti-Fraud Services (CAFS), we protect the public purse from the constant threat of fraud. Our dedicated team of managers and investigators combat this and provide advice and guidance regarding fraud and undertake proactive counter-fraud exercises. And that’s where you come in. As an apprentice, you’ll have the chance to develop your skills and complete your IIA Practitioner Level 4 apprenticeship standard.

The Role:

With variety in every day, this is a great opportunity to develop your career with the full support of a friendly and experienced team. As an Apprentice Fraud Investigator, you’ll be actively involved in all aspects of our counter fraud operation. You’ll gain experience with investigations across the council in a variety of fraud allegations concerning parking, housing and social services.

Working alongside experienced investigators you’ll take on a range of administrative tasks. As well as this you’ll conduct your own interviews of witnesses and suspects, collate data and share your findings with the team. Roughly 20% of your programme working hours will be spent gaining knowledge and skills towards your qualification. You’ll learn and grow quickly, picking up valuable skills, and eventually leading your own small criminal and civil investigations.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

The work we do is fast-paced so you’ll be comfortable balancing multiple projects at once in a dynamic environment. With the capacity to work with people across all levels, you’ll have great verbal and written communication skills, and be keen to learn. Bringing an enthusiastic approach to every challenge and an interest to learn about fraud, you’ll enjoy supporting people throughout investigations. It’s important to act as a team player. We’re helping the community and your professional and curious approach to work will help you thrive.

In turn, we can offer you a great career path, alongside really good benefits that include hybrid working, access to a great pension, generous annual leave, and sector-leading training opportunities throughout.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.
