We’re getting ready for the future. And your future starts with us.

At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we like to take an ambitious approach to everything that we do. Our local community comes from every conceivable background, and requires support for the most broad array of challenges. As such, we don’t just put people at the heart of the services we’re creating and maintaining – we literally build them around their precise needs. It’s a progressive mindset that enables us to do even more for local residents, and happily, this approach is shared by our friends at Westminster City Council. Through the creation of shared bi-borough services, we’re able to do even more with the funds and resources available to us, and we have access to an even bigger pool of expertise. Now, once again, we are shaking up how things are done as we build our new Adults and Public Health Integrated Commissioning. And it is within this team that you could explore a range of fascinating opportunities.

The Role:

At a time in which social care reforms are coming, and there is more pressure than ever on our public health and adult social care services, we must implement radical transformations and drive efficiencies wherever possible. But more than that, we want to look at the services we’re creating from a resident’s perspective in order to bring a new approach to commissioning. We therefore need to fully understand the user experience of these services from first contact through to follow-up care, so it’s vital that we bring a bold approach to all that we’re doing.

This means we need people with a wide variety of skills in order to get to grips with the initiatives that we’re designing and commissioning. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in this work at all levels, ranging from roles within Service Design and Care Markets through to Performance Managers, Strategy Officers and User Researchers. Whether your strengths lie in developing new markets, statistical analysis, contract oversight or user experience research, there’s almost certainly a role for you on our team if you’re passionate about shaking up how things are done, and creating public health and adult social care services that aren’t just fit for purpose, they’re sector-leading.

The roles we have available are:

You can apply to either Westminster or Kensington and Chelsea and they will discuss at interview both organisations/roles, due to Bi-Borough nature of the service.

About You:

Regardless of the role or team that you are interested in, there are a few key considerations that will ensure you thrive in our inclusive and diverse team. Crucially, you’ll be able to balance the needs of multiple projects, meeting deadlines and seeing to it that your overall objectives are being met. For example, you might be working on mental health services, before turning your attention to care homes – but with great organisation skills, you’ll thrive on this variety. As a great team-player who enjoys collaborating with both partner and corporate services, you’ll bring an innovative mindset in which you can drive change and make things happen. We’re open to what background you’re coming from, but great business acumen and budgetary skills are important. Above all else, you’ll bring masses of empathy – because together, we can make the changes that will deliver an even better quality of life for our local communities.

In turn, we can offer you a fascinating career path, complemented by a competitive benefits package that includes flexible working options, exceptional training and development opportunities (regardless of what stage of your career you’re at), a competitive contributory pension, and generous annual leave.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.
