Do you like meeting and helping people?

Are you an experienced receptionist looking for a new challenge?

We may have the perfect role for you!

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Receptionist to join our well established and diverse Business Support Team on a 12-month fixed term basis.

Our vision

The Business Support service’s vision is a simple one: ‘to implement a robust, flexible and resilient business support service across Children’s Services’.

About the role

You will provide a friendly and efficient reception service in multiple buildings across the borough, predominantly in our Children’s Centres.  This is a very busy service and we require a highly motivated individual.  You must be a team player, with strong communication skills, both spoken and written, and who has previous receptionist experience.

You will make sure that all visitors, service users, colleagues, and partners, feel welcomed, directing them to the person they wish to see or helping them understand what services are available to them.

You will need to be polite, efficient and helpful in all face-to-face contact and when on the telephone, assisting a diverse range of people including health professionals, council officers and service users. You will understand the importance of confidentiality and possess good organisational skills, enabling you to manage a varied workload in a busy front-line office.

You will ensure that the reception area, buildings and outside spaces are kept clean, tidy and well maintained.  You will understand the importance of Health and Safety in the workplace, leading on all fire safety, repairs, maintenance and ensuring that everything is completed to the required standard.

Good computer skills are essential, with particular experience of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook) required.

This role requires the candidate to work from our children’s centres and the candidate must be willing to travel around the borough as required by the service.
