Essex County Council is a local authority with a difference. With more than 2 million people living in our vicinity, we are passionate about ensuring our local population can enjoy all that life has to offer. Like many councils we have faced the need to drive enhanced value for money across our services, so we challenged ourselves to come up with better ways of working – resulting in truly innovative services that have the scope to transform life outcomes.

We are seeking a Senior Educational Psychologist with an ASD specialism to support the development of Educational Psychology services across Education, undertaking strategic development work, more complex case work and providing professional supervision to support and develop the quality of professional practice. You will work with the central strategy lead for ASD to include informing central strategy for ASD alongside the ASD strategy lead; complex case work around ASD; and tribunal support for the service. You will oversee and update the service on research and current findings.

The Essex Educational Psychology Service (EEPS) is one such example of a visionary service that has gone from strength to strength, and it is here that you will find a career-defining opportunity. The EEPS is a far-reaching multidisciplinary service that benefits from the expertise of many senior specialists. As a valued member of this team, you will have the chance to develop your expertise under the guidance of colleagues who are passionate about transforming the life outcomes of children and adolescents. Providing a forward-thinking service to local authority schools and academies, you will take a solutions-oriented focus when working with children of all ages, applying evidence-based approaches and interventions to help them manage their obstacles to learning.
