We are looking for a Specialist Customer Services Advisor to provide a central point of contact for members of the public ensuring appropriate access to social care services; provided by both our Adult and Children’s Social Care Services. You will be responsible for receiving and processing all enquiries and requests for the service in line with local and central government requirements. You will take ownership of complex customer queries including conducting initial assessments for the social care-based services that we provide.

You will need a high level of resilience to deal with what can be emotionally challenging calls, these could range from reports of abuse concerning a vulnerable child or adult, request for a care assessment for a family member or a death, so you will need to have the ability to make sound judgements and impart knowledge, advice and guidance surrounding social care services.

Whilst the position will be based at Northallerton, as a modern council the role offers the opportunity to work flexibly at alternative locations across our hubs within North Yorkshire as well as home working.
