The role:

An exciting and fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Fleet Manager (Operations) to join our experienced and specialist Fleet Transport team. The council operates a diverse fleet of over 750 vehicles and plant to support various services across the county and this role ensures we have effective and professional relationships with key stakeholders and customers.

Your role is to manage and support our 4 inhouse fleet workshops located at Alnwick, Hexham, Blyth and Stakeford providing guidance to Workshop Managers relating to fault diagnosis, sub-contractors and suppliers.

This position is critical in the delivery of both fleet management and maintenance in the most efficient and cost-effective way. You’ll play a pivotal role in the performance of the workshop kpi’s including safety, compliance, budgets and staff performance.
