The Revenues Service is looking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Officer to cover maternity leave in our busy Purchase Ledger team. The Purchase Ledger Team process the Council’s payments to suppliers, service providers and individuals. You will be responsible to the Purchase Ledger Team Leader for the preparation and validation of invoices for input to Unit 4 Business World (Agresso).

You will also complete reconciliation to orders or contracts identifying and investigating discrepancies, maintaining related records and performing miscellaneous tasks connected with the payment of providers and suppliers.

You will be highly numerate and will ideally have experience of working within a Purchase Ledger environment, handling large volumes. You will need to understand the basic concept of VAT and its various categories, CIS, CEST and calculating discounts.

You will also have excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels.
