Performance and Reward Advisor

Employer
The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea Council
Location
Kensington and Chelsea, London (Greater)
Salary
£50,790 - £58,338
Closing date
29 Jul 2022

Delivering to communities starts with delivering to our workforce.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we have an ambitious Council Plan which sets out our priorities for the future. It is directly shaped by the Council’s biggest ever ‘conversation’ with residents and puts community involvement at its heart. Embedding lessons from the Grenfell tragedy and recovering from the pandemic will be top priorities, and we need many more talented people to help us succeed.

The Role:

Recruiting and retaining the right people is a top priority. That’s why we want our pay and rewards to be competitive, and we also want them to reflect our commitment to equity and transparency. You’ll help us achieve this by providing expertise in job evaluation alongside specialist input and advice on pay and reward policies and practices. This will include research and analysis on all aspects of pay and reward within the wider marketplace, as well as coaching and guiding HR colleagues and line managers to ensure our whole organisation demonstrates good practice.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

You’ll have a good grounding in pay and reward practices, which could have been gained in a generalist or specialist HR role. You’ll also be a confident and experienced job evaluator, with experience of the Hay evaluation scheme. Comfortable with data analysis, you’ll have strong Excel skills and the ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy. CIPD-qualified, you’re able to demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge of employment and equalities legislation.

While local authority knowledge would be helpful, it isn’t essential. Success depends on your ability to build productive relationships both inside and outside the council and see pay and rewards as part of the bigger picture of organisational design and talent management. Good listening skills and a solution-focused approach are both important.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.
