At Bolton Council we have an excellent opportunity for someone to join the team to help manage change based on getting the most out of technology. The role of Assistant ICT Solutions Partner is positioned in our Corporate ICT team, which is part of the Transformation Division. You will be joining the ICT Solutions unit, which is a driving force of technology projects across the Council’s directorates.
The role is an outstanding opportunity for someone who might be building their project management experience, and for someone who truly gets satisfaction from liaising with colleagues to pinpoint technology requirements to help retain robust operations and to deliver improvements. You could be involved in a wide range of work, from identifying process improvements and managing automation, to helping business teams migrate from one set of applications to another, to working with third parties to maintain core systems and developing functionality to serve the business, to well beyond! Common to all projects will be the need to understand customer requirements, catering for them through making the best of our ICT offering.
The role reports to the ICT Solutions Delivery Manager, and you will take up an important job in liaising with teams across Bolton Council to spot opportunities to deploy technology with much emphasis on the direct implementation of related projects. You will typically directly manage medium scale change and in some instances be a key project team member of large scale programmes managed by others. The work will be involved in working with and in many cases leading matrix project teams comprised of staff from across the Council and our third party partners.
You will be naturally organised and results-driven. We are seeking someone who will strongly contribute to an overall Transformation effort. It’s an exciting time at Bolton Council, with the launch of our new Digital Programme last year, and we would like to hear from enthusiastic and capable individuals to help us achieve the best results for the borough.
You will need:
• Proven project management experience, preferably in a large organisation, and involving change based on technology. We are very happy to consider candidates both from the public and private sectors.
• Experience of working with third parties to deliver projects.
• Good communications and influencing skills.
• Team spirit, tenacity, and focus on delivery!
