We have a permanent vacancy for a part time / Job-share Operations Manager within Tenancy Services, Housing & Safer Communities. The post is available from 3rd October 2022, the working pattern will be the end of the week, two days on week one, (Thursday and Friday) 3 days on week two (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday) There is a permanent job-share Operations Manager working the start of the week, (Monday Tuesday & Wednesday week one, Monday & Tuesday week two.)

The applicant will report to the Senior Operations Manager and will have responsibility for the Tenancy Management of Council Owned Housing stock within half of the borough, West & South or East & Central. The applicant should have extensive knowledge of Tenancy Management.

The main duties of the post include the following:

1.      To be part of the Senior Management Group and to actively work on strategic and corporate matters within the designated area of responsibility and to lead and participate in projects as required.

2.      To be responsible for the delivery of services through the day-to-day      management of Team leaders and other Supervisors

3.      To act as a focal point for Area activity including the monitoring and reviewing of service level agreements. To coordinate and assist in the development of a range of services including integrated enforcement, Repairs, Major Works, Community Participation and regeneration initiatives including environmental improvements. To liaise with Members of the Council, contractors and internal and external partners to ensure the provision of a comprehensive and holistic service to residents in the Area.

4.      To actively engage and promote community development and involvement, raising the profile and visibility of the Council to create, promote and sustain opportunities for social inclusion and equality of opportunity.

5.      To attend and lead where necessary at local and corporate consultation and community engagement arrangements including estate inspections, Local Housing Panels etc in consultation with the Community Participation Team and other relevant managers, ensuring corporate accountability action and feedback as necessary.

6.     To support Customer Services in the management of the Service Centre and the provision of Front Office Reception Services. To be part of the Management Team responsible for the development of the Centre undertaking activities that enhance the Centres profile and capacity.

7.     Through the effective management of tenancy services, (including leaseholders) ensuring compliance with and enforcement of tenancy conditions. To attend partnership arrangements to prevent crime and to reduce crime and the fear of crime. Specifically, to maintain regular contact with the Crime Prevention Service Community Safety and Local Policing Teams pooling resources where appropriate to respond to problems and to integrate crime prevention measures into estate management practices.
