We are looking for a Technical Analyst to join our IT Support operation acting as a packaging specialist.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a key position within a professional IT service. You will be responsible for the packaging workstream and will work with other members of the department and with staff in the rest of the organisation as part of that function. You will co-ordinate other resources as and when these are required.

The organisation offers substantial benefits, such as membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, agile working and training opportunities.

Working for the Richmond & Wandsworth Shared Staffing Arrangement

This role is employed under the Shared Staffing Arrangement between Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. The overall purpose of the Shared Staffing Arrangement is to provide the highest quality of service at the lowest attainable cost.

Staff are expected to deliver high quality and responsive services wherever they are based, as well as having the ability to adapt to sometimes differing processes and expectations in each borough.

The Shared Staffing Arrangement aims to be at the forefront of innovation in local government and the organisation invests in the development of its staff and ensures the opportunities for progression that only a large organisation can provide.

Duties and Responsibilities:

You must be committed to customer care and be able to work with minimum supervision. You will play a vital role in ensuring we provide deployable software, without undue delay, to the whole user base of approximately 4000 staff. You will be taking on new software as part of procurement projects and maintaining existing software in the field by ensuring updated versions are packaged to replace earlier versions.

We would expect you to be self-motivated, enthusiastic and have a can-do attitude. You will be prepared to go the extra mile, when required, to ensure that both a great business-as-usual service is delivered and to help solve issues when they occur.

You must have previous experience of working within a successful IT service and have a technical background. Our practices comply to the ITIL framework and we expect you to have ITIL knowledge already. You will be familiar with Microsoft technologies and will have worked in an environment based on a Microsoft infrastructure, being familiar with tools such as Active Directory, AppV, SCCM, etc. You will also be using Flexera AdminStudio packaging software.

You will have responsibility for supervision of work that others are contributing and will be used to dealing with suppliers when necessary.
