Oadby and Wigston is a borough that is continuing to thrive and develop, developing our communities and economy, enabling and shaping growth and delivering services to our customers to the highest standard. We are an ambitious Council and we pride ourselves on delivering excellent services.

After recently restructuring and bolstering resources within our finance team, we are now looking for a forward thinking and dynamic finance professional to lead our Finance and Revenues and Benefits services. You will manage the day-to-day operation of the team ensuring accurate and timely professional financial support across the organisation, including enhancing an effective financial management culture and efficient revenues and benefits services to residents and businesses.

You will also support the Strategic Director and Section 151 Officer on all aspects of finance and financial strategy. As the Head of Finance, you’ll act as Deputy S151 Officer and have responsibility for the full range of organisational finance related activities.

The Council is an agile working employer and expect the role to work on-site in our offices on average 1 day a week and for in-person committee meetings, subject to negotiation with management.

Oadby and Wigston is a great place to live, work and visit and our council is a great organisation to work for. We empower our employees to be creative in how we deliver our services, and this delivers fantastic outcomes for residents, businesses, partners and visitors alike.
