The Service
The Corporate Fraud Team are responsible for the prevention and detection of fraud and error across all services that the council deliver. Investigating reports of fraud against the council and taking appropriate action including criminal prosecutions, as well as carrying out pro-active exercises.
The team is currently made up of 5 full time posts providing support and advice to all departments on fraud detection and preventative measures as well as work with external organisations.
We operate a hybrid style of working with a combination of working from home and office.
The role
A vacancy has arisen for a Corporate Fraud Investigator within the team, the ideal candidate will be an accredited counter counter fraud specialist have experience in criminal fraud investigation.
The post involves investigating a wide range of reports made to the council about fraudulent activity as well as preventative work. Reporting the the Corporate Fraud Manager the post holder will manage their own investigations to the highest of criminal standards.
As well as hybrid working from home and office the successful candidate will be required to travel across the county to visit people in their homes and conduct interviews in our various offices therefore a full driving license and transport are required.
We are offering:
A starting salary of £29,174 - £32,798 (Band 7)
25 days annual leave plus public and bank holidays (rising to 30 after 5 years of service)(pro-rata for part-time employees)
