Bradford Children’s and Families Trust is taking the delivery of social care for children in our district in a positive new direction. Owned by the Council but operating at arm’s length, it will develop new ways of working and build a new future as it offers safe, transparent support to some of the most vulnerable children and young people in our area.

The role of Chief Executive will be key to our success, and when you join us you’ll provide the strategic leadership, management, planning and direction for all the services the Trust provide, in accordance with the decisions of the Board and the relevant legislation and statutory guidance.

Responsible for ensuring positive outcomes for the children and young people we support, and that improvements in our services are in line with the Trust’s business plan and key performance indicators, you’ll develop and implement the vision, values, aims and objectives of the Trust, and shape the overall of the business plan.

You’ll also work to provide a quality service and realise this ambition by developing an organisation that achieves financial and organisational viability while ensuring that all our safeguarding, governance and good practice standards are met. Leading and inspiring your staff through a culture of engagement, collaboration, continuous improvement and empowerment, your ultimate goal will be to foster innovative change that leads to successful outcomes for all the children, young people and families we support.

Educated to post graduate degree level or with equivalent social care experience, you’ll be an inspirational leader and capable of working at a senior level in a multi-stakeholder and political environment. With a track record of successful leadership and management, and of delivering improvements to childrens’ services in a trust, local authority or comparable organisation, we’ll also expect you to have financial control and budgetary management expertise in a public sector setting.

Ready to provide effective and professional guidance to colleagues at all levels of the Trust, and with significant commercial or commissioning experience, you’ll have the ability to lead strategy and policy development and implementation for larger organisations. In addition, you should also be able to establish and communicate a compelling vision and strategy to a wide range of key stakeholders and have the ability to establish motivational and positive relationships with everyone you work with.
