An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist (OT) within The Independent Living Service (ILS). This service has 26 staff made up of Occupational Therapists, Disability Officer and Community Assessment Officers and includes the Sensory Team and Telecare Team. The aim of the OT is to provide specialist input into meeting the needs of people with disabilities across the district with a view to promoting their independence by offering advice /techniques, equipment, adaptations and support.

This post offers an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of innovative ways of working across health and social care in order to improve the experience of service users and carers and to promote wellbeing and independence.

The ability to develop, maintain and improve relationships with service users and carers is essential in this role as well as the attributes required to participate in inter-disciplinary team working. 

The post is subject to enhanced clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion for working with adults, understanding their needs, aspirations and supporting them to enhance their quality of life and promote independence.

About Us

The OT will work within an allocated District and undertake assessments/reviews of need under the Care Act 2014, assist with advice /techniques, equipment, adaptations and provision of support as necessary and also link people in to universal and voluntary services. They will also assist colleagues within other areas of the service as necessary
