Help co-design and deliver London’s largest eco-neighbourhood

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with residents to provide quality services that are responsive, effective, and efficient. This is particularly important in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
Through a multi-million-pound refurbishment - co-designed with residents - we’re transforming Lancaster West into a model social housing estate for the 21st century. Ensuring that an investment in Lancaster West is also an investment in North Kensington, we are working closely with local communities to provide new jobs and training opportunities, promote health and well-being, and put a green recovery at the heart of Grenfell recovery.

The Role:

In a new role of Future Neighbourhood Project Officer, you’ll support the development and delivery of an exciting and innovative programme of projects across Lancaster West and wider Notting Dale, with the ambition to eventually become London’s largest eco-neighbourhood.
Focusing on sustainability and carbon neutrality, you’ll work effectively with residents, service providers and community partners to coordinate and support a range of projects. You’ll liaise with colleagues across all levels of the Council and beyond, communicating information clearly and concisely, managing both your own time, and the time of others. Most importantly, you’ll be fully immersed in shaping the future of community service provision, and part of a a forward-thinking team that is working to make tangible, positive changes to the lives of residents in the local area.

About You:

You’ll have strong organisational skills, and experience of using Excel and PowerPoint. You’ll be a good communicator, and a team player, with the ability to build and maintain successful relationships. Experience of providing project and administrative support is also desirable, as is an understanding of collating data and insight to inform decision making. Fundamentally, you’ll be passionate about improving the lives of residents in North Kensington, and about working towards a sustainable future for people and planet. This is a role that will allow you to make a difference in the heart of our community, and help you progress a potential career in project management, sustainability, or community development.
