We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic communications professional to join our fast-paced communications service. This is a unique opportunity to support some key public health programmes in Wakefield, including our ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As part of the Communications, Engagement and Marketing Service, you will work closely with colleagues across the Council and external partners to help develop and deliver communications and campaign plans to influence public behaviour and improve the health and wellbeing of Wakefield residents.
You will have an understanding of how to reach and work with different audiences, an up-to-date knowledge of delivering communications strategies, excellent social media experience and a good understanding of the role of both internal and external communications and engagement in a large organisation. You will be a competent storyteller with experience of writing and editing copy for a wide range of internal and external communications channels. Key to the role is creativity and the ability to produce and edit video, animations and you will be at the forefront of helping us discover new channels and ways to help us to tell our stories.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new vision for the district, supporting Wakefield Council to build its reputation with employees, residents, and partners.
There may also be opportunities to be part of other Public Health campaigns as the role progresses.
