We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Digital Communications Manager to join our team and help transform our social media presence.

We are looking for someone who has energy, passion and stamina and will be able to inspire and support the digital needs of our communications team, and the wider organisation.

The person we need has expertise in managing all digital communications channels but is a proven social media specialist.

You’ll ensure that content is delivered to a high standard, using a mix of techniques to drive audience engagement, including video, graphics, imagery and words. You must be able to lead pro-active social media content planning and development, constantly looking to grow audience engagement and reach by using evaluation tools.

The right person will have the knowledge and experience to provide clear gateway and auditing mechanisms to support and govern the use of non-council social media accounts.

You will be able to work independently, be comfortable adapting to fast-changing situations and be able to handle multiple priorities.

Ideally, you’ll have experience of working in a large organisation so that you can champion the voice of the customer both internally and externally. You’ll need to be strategic in your approach and drive the data from social media evaluation to use as an intelligence and improvement tool.

You’ll be well supported by your colleagues and your team. You’ll benefit from Wakefield Council’s commitment to work life balance and equality and diversity, as well as generous annual leave entitlement and a range employee benefits like healthcare, public transport and gym memberships discounts.

We look forward to hearing from you.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy once sufficient suitable applications have been received. It is advisable to apply early to avoid disappointment as applications will be assessed on a regular basis.
