Participating in Directorate/School/Organisation Safety committees acting as a resource of expertise and guidance.

What you will bring…

To be successful you must be a good communicator, both written and verbal, have the ability to assimilate new initiatives, technology and software and interpret information, have effective influencing and negotiating skills and have the ability to problem solve, find pragmatic solutions in professionally challenging situations, demonstrate good interpersonal skills and be able to work to deadlines and performance indicators.

What’s in it for you?

We want you to work to live not live to work, we want you to enjoy the things in life that really matter to you and this is important to us. We are a successful Health & Safety team that can offer career development opportunities as well as job security. You can also expect to receive ongoing support throughout your role.

We can offer you a range of employee benefits including a competitive salary, generous leave entitlement, flexible working hours, a government pension scheme and access to our ‘Everybody Benefits’ package which includes a variety of retail discounts.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is a qualified or newly qualified NEBOSH or NCRQ with no experience in the Education Sector looking for a new challenge with job security, or an Education Sector worker who would love the opportunity to develop themselves in Health & safety with the commitment to qualify within a specified timeframe.

The County of North Yorkshire is the largest County in England and Wales. Within the county are 598 square miles of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and 530 square miles of the North York Moors National Park. The county is included in the Yorkshire and Humberside Region.

Whilst the economy of the County has traditionally been dependent on agriculture and tourism, there is a fast growing high technology base and this, together with other forms of light manufacturing industry, is of increasing importance. The County Council has an active policy of economic development and the predominantly rural character of the County is highly attractive to high technology businesses as well as the traditional industries of farming, food production and tourism. The County contains several centres of great historic interest, market towns that invite light industrial development, the modern coalfield area in the South, scenic, lightly populated upland areas and the extensive lowland area in the Vale of York.
