An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Early Years Finance Officer to join the Children & Young People’s Finance Team. This is a permanent post within the team primarily providing support to the Early Years section of the team including liaison with early years providers within the Wakefield district.

 

The successful applicants will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work at pace both independently and as part of a team and also have the ability to interpret and communicate both financial and non-financial information in a variety of techniques. The main purposes of the post are:

 

  • To work primarily with the Early Years Finance Team Leader and across the wider team to provide a range of administrative and financial support.
  • To be a point of contact to answers calls and email queries from providers and other stakeholders; providing appropriate information, guidance and advice.
  • To be responsible for the inputting and monitoring of data on the early years database as well as validating, extracting and analysing information from the database relating to EYFE providers and funded children.
  • To support the EYFE annual census to ensure data is being submit accurately and in accordance with guidance and legislation.
  • To support the EYFE annual audit plan and to assist with audits of early years providers to ensure funding is being used appropriately and in accordance with EYFE regulations.
